Artist who's teaming with USA Today on wrongful incarceration awareness has U-M link
Peter Tunney, the celebrated neo-pop artist who is teaming with USA Today to spread awareness on the issue of wrongful incarceration, has a link to Michigan through another worthy event — this one aimed at destigmatizing mental illness.
In 2018, Tunney participated in a weeklong event held by the University of Michigan in partnership with the rapper Logic, Oscar-nominated actress Glenn Close, former NFL linebacker Brandon Marshall and his wife, Michi, and the Steven Schwartzberg Foundation.
The Who Can Relate? event was designed to encourage discussions and stop stigmas about mental illness. Its name came from a lyric in Logic’s hit song about suicide prevention, “800-273-8255.”
